We are excited to introduce Eoin Riordan, a Graduate Mechanical Engineer at Atlantach Technical Services. Eoin joined us in early December and has quickly become an integral part of our team.
Eoin was initially drawn to Atlantach by the opportunity to kickstart his career post-university and gain independence. His journey has been diverse, starting from getting accustomed to site navigation and team collaboration, to developing critical skills through various projects.
In his current role, Eoin’s primary responsibilities involve a mix of independent tasks and team collaboration. His typical day starts at 8 am with emails, followed by independent work, daily duties and group meetings.
Atlantach has played a pivotal role in Eoin’s professional growth by providing access to online trainings and consistent support from his manager. This nurturing environment has allowed Eoin to learn from mistakes and continuously improve the quality of his work. Regular communication and easy access to guidance have eased any concerns he may have.
One of the most rewarding aspects of Eoin’s job has been the continuous improvement of his skills, which proves beneficial in various projects. A notable challenge he overcame was optimizing an inefficient Excel sheet used in tool installation. Despite his initial unfamiliarity with Excel beyond basic calculations, Eoin developed a more efficient alternative and successfully convinced his team to adopt and adapt to it.
Eoin describes the work culture at Atlantach as supportive and collaborative. He values the helpfulness and generosity of his colleagues, who share their time, experience, and advice freely. The sense of camaraderie within his team makes his work environment enjoyable and productive.
For graduates and aspiring engineers, Eoin advises working hard and staying attentive. Learning from every opportunity and asking questions has been key to his professional development.
Outside of work, Eoin enjoys physical activity such as the gym, live music, and spending time with friends. Balancing his professional and personal life is something he manages carefully, albeit precariously.
Eoin is motivated by his ambition to one day earn the title of Chartered Engineer. His journey at Atlantach is just beginning, and we are excited to see him achieve his goals and continue to grow in his career.
