The scope of this role is to plan, resource and implement the Atlantach Technical Services strategy for entry to the European market. The candidate will have responsibility for building an infrastructure to trade in the agreed European jurisdictions, beginning with Germany.  The candidate will work directly with senior director colleagues to align this strategy with the growth strategy for the overall business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Join the senior leadership team with a clear focus on enhancing the overall business strategy through a successful deployment of the Atlantach organization in the European market.
  • Become appraised of the ongoing EU entry strategy development by the senior leadership team, and to close out on the current Enterprise Ireland EU Entry program.
  • Present a final EU strategy to the senior leadership team and agree rollout timelines, architecture, resourcing structure and budget.
  • Engage with the appropriate local legal, financial, municipal, and governmental agencies to ensure that the establishment of the Atlantach entity or entities in European jurisdictions is compliant with local and national rules, codes, and processes.
  • Develop strong business relationships with the current Irish customers who have European facilities. Leverage the existing Atlantach brand and customer endorsements to enhance the EU opportunities.
  • Implement structures across the European regions and jurisdictions to ensure compliance and success for the planned projects.
  • Introduce the EU strategy to the ongoing operations of the business and report accordingly at weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Develop the Atlantach Technical Services culture in the emerging EU jurisdictions and promote the company values in the developing EU business.
  • Role models respect and foster the creation of a respectful and value driven work environment.
  • Contribute annually to the budget preparation and report on budget performance on a monthly basis.
  • Build operational and support teams per region to ensure the second-tier structure is robust and secure to be sustainable and capable of growth.
  • Appraise the senior leadership group on strategy progress across Europe, and subsequent market entry locations.
  • Contribute to the key decision making and strategic development and reviews for the entire company.

Requisite experience

  • 5 Years + experience in a senior leadership team with responsibility for budget, schedule, and quality delivery, in an engineering/construction related organisation.
  • Can demonstrate a proficiency in people leadership and management by referencing relevant case studies.
  • Can demonstrate a proficiency in legal contract negotiations, capital, and operational budget management.
  • Can demonstrate a proficiency in the acquisition of work permits, visas, and other approvals to support the deployment of engineering staff.
  • Has requisite experience in establishing strong relationships with customers at procurement, planning, and construction level.
  • Has a solid level of experience in large construction projects and understands the structures and participants engaged in large scale projects.


  • Stop any unsafe acts or work practices.
  • Approve spend in line with agreed budgets.
  • Provide updates and progress to client management.
  • Liaise with European advisors to ensure compliance with EU regulations
