Currently we are hiring a Civil Engineer to support projects across the US and Canada. The successful engineer must be available for travel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize total station and other advanced surveying equipment for accurate setting out of construction works.
- Establish and maintain project control points, benchmarks, and datums to ensure alignment and accuracy across the site.
- Conduct precise measurement checks of building elements to ensure compliance with approved plans and tolerances.
- Monitor and verify construction dimensions throughout the project lifecycle to avoid discrepancies and rework.
- Perform regular QA inspections and verification of subcontractor work to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
- Document and report any deviations, propose corrective actions, and follow up on resolution.
- Collaborate with construction and subcontractor teams to address technical queries and resolve on-site issues efficiently.
- Provide ongoing support and problem-solving assistance to maintain workflow and minimize delays.
- Create and revise 2D and 3D design documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Interpret and interact with 3D design models using tools such as Revit and Navisworks for visualization, clash detection, and coordination.
- Assist in integrating 3D model data into construction planning and layout processes.
- Prepare and maintain detailed engineering records, including setting-out data, QA/QC logs, and survey reports.
- Communicate findings and updates clearly to project managers and design teams.

You have authority to stop the job if you feel there is an unsafe work practice which could result in a risk of injury, have an environmental impact or risk to equipment and other personnel.
Requirements:
• Proficient with use of latest equipment such as total station for setting out purposes
• Establish project control points and datums for surveying purposes
• Accurate dimension checks of buildings
• Accurate QA checking and verification of subcontractor works
• Assisting construction teams with general collaboration/communication/problem solving in relation to subcontractor works
• Very proficient with AutoCad and Civils 3D and preferably proficient with use of 3D models (such as Revis and Navisworks)
